I’ve been writing my entire life, but most recently as a Senior Copywriter with Impact Managed Marketing, a marketing agency in Chicago.
My seven years in copywriting span everything from digital content to full brand identities, websites, and marketing campaigns across an ever-expanding array of clients at branding and marketing agencies in Chicago. And I’m having a pretty great time doing it.
Kind Words from Nice People
Joshua P. Ferguson, Strategy Director, Pivot Design (former Creative Director, BatesMeron Sweet Design)
“By now, she’s probably sick of me saying it. But, Maggie’s a natural. Right from the start, she showed the qualities you want in a copywriter: strategic, clever, versatile, flexible, open, and eager to grow. She’s equally comfortable working through concepts at a high level, translating those into compelling headlines, and breaking down complex information into easily digestible copy.
Despite her newness to the industry at the time, she was always game to pitch in during client presentations and help lead discovery sessions. Maggie is bright, sharp, witty, and unassuming. She was an invaluable asset to our writing team—and would be an invaluable asset to any team she’s looking to join.
With as much promise as I saw in our time together, so early in her career, I can confidently say that Maggie is a rare talent whose mind was made for copywriting.“
Josie E. Davis, Creative Producer & Owner, Curmudgeon Group
“From day one, Maggie exceeded expectations. Her passion for advertising, production, copywriting, and the creative field—and the innate desire to learn and acquire new skills—made her a refreshing and welcome addition to the team. Maggie joined at ground zero and despite the frustrations and logistical red tape that often accompany new projects, she was an enthusiastic, intelligent, and avid contributor whose positive mindset and insights were invaluable.
Within three months, Maggie co-designed and developed copy for the website, researched and connected with partner organizations around
the country, was crafting weekly social media content, and was regularly developing copy and research for the agency blog. She was always open to new assignments and was often ahead of the curve, working tirelessly to ensure the project launch was a success.
I’m proud to say that due to Maggie’s efforts, we received an overwhelmingly positive response in the weeks following the launch. Maggie is a focused, engaged listener and content creator with an unbeatable work ethic. As a person, she is compassionate, kind, creative, and driven to succeed. I highly recommend Maggie and can say with all confidence that she will make a lasting impact and prove to be a positive investment for your team.”
James Fuller, Senior Staff Writer, The Daily Herald, (former Staff Advisor, The Courier Student Newspaper)
“Maggie has found a distinct writing voice that reflects an understanding of the power of words that is beyond her years.Time and again, Maggie consistently showed she was the strongest writer on staff. Her ability to accurately reflect the views of the newsroom staff in well-researched editorials with a measured but forceful voice fueled conversation throughout the campus.
People didn’t just read. They heard us, and they responded. That’s the true measure of success for any editorial page. She brought energy and enthusiasm to the newsroom and staff meetings. I have no doubt Maggie will be successful in whatever she puts her mind toward achieving. She would be an unforgettable addition to any staff she applies the full range of her talents to.”
Susan Geffen, Adjunct Professor, Columbia College Chicago
“When I was a creative director in advertising, Maggie was exactly the kind of person I looked for to join my team. She is not only a gifted writer; she is a strong idea person and both leader and team player.
Maggie “gets” that the core of what we do is the consumer’s wants and needs; her work consistently reflected that.
Maggie brought more than was asked for. She stretched looking for new ways to bring an idea forward. In addition, Maggie was a pro. Always on time. Always ready. Frankly, I wish I were in a position to hire her myself!”
